The objectives of the “India Innovation Initiative 2017” are:
- 1To train an entire cadre of trainers – incubator faculty, young academics, venture capitalists, angel investors and fund/loan managers - and equip them to support the pre-incubation training needs of individuals innovators, from both rural and urban areas, to help the innovators to commercialise their innovations and set up their own business ventures.
- 2To enable pre-screening of innovators by the certified trainers or panel of experts so that only those applicants with breakthrough and disruptive innovations, and a demonstrable interest to commercialise their innovations, are selected to undergo training from among the entire batch of applicants.
- 3To equip the screened innovators, selected to participate in the pre-incubation regional workshops, with necessary knowledge in the areas of defining a business problem, carving a solution, conducting market research and creating a business plan so that they are able to launch their own small enterprises and are better prepared to seek incubation and funding support.
- 4Creating and further building an ecosystem of facilitators, certified trainers, mentors, incubators, investors and beneficiaries (innovators and early-stage entrepreneurs).
